Mission:
To provide every foster child in Texas counties Tarrant, Parker,
Johnson, Erath, Palo Pinto, Hood and Somervell with the
Best Christmas possible.
Christmas Wish Project "CWP" is a volunteer 501c3 nonprofit, no-frills project with 100
percent of donations going toward the mission.
We work under the guidance of “Keep it simple … Don’t lose focus.”
For two months every year, CWP operates without insurance, office space, supplies
or even a post office box, to give Tarrant County foster children the best Christmas
possible. There’s no middleman or overhead costs.
The Tarrant County and DFW Foster Parents Associations, Chosen Ones, Our
Community Our Kids (OCOK) and other foster care agencies distribute CWP information
to foster parents. The parents then fill out an online application about their foster child
and the child’s wish. CWP volunteers search for, purchase and organize those wishes to
be distributed in time for Christmas morning.
Through generous supporters, CWP establishes its base in a donated warehouse to
organize purchases for gift pick-ups.
Savvy CWP shoppers utilize every coupon, credit card offer, and connection to
stretch donations to the fullest. Gifts are available for pick up by the foster parents
well before Christmas, allowing them to play Santa with their foster children on
Christmas Day, just like a real family.
The idea is simple. Help foster parents make precious, long-lasting memories for
their foster child. While many of the children wish for their first bike and older
teens wish for gift certificates to buy stylish clothing, the result is the same: foster
children enjoying a simple childhood rite of passage that many of us take for granted.
In 2019, CWP granted wishes for more than 1,200 foster children.
With your generosity, CWP can continue making a difference in the lives of children across Texas.
